This outfit is a knockoff in two ways. Layers of copying, if you will.
First, it was inspired by an Atlantic Pacific outfit way back from 2012. (Ok, I know I am wearing plain black shoes instead of fab pink ones, but as you can see this pictures were taken on vacation in Ibiza and not in suburban NJ. The bright colored heels just did not fit in the suitcase.) What can I say? Stripes are timeless. And I Google before I get dressed in the morning sometimes. Some people exercise or eat a healthy breakfast first in the morning. I, personally, Google outfit ideas.
Second, this dress is Kate Spade-inspired. I thought it was a great dupe for the Celina dress. I am not saying this designer copied Kate Spade. I have no idea which dress came first. It's a chicken or the egg type of dilemma. Also, I am not sure you can accuse someone of plagiarizing black and white stripes. But, I am sure that this dress (at $88) is 77% less expensive than the Kate Spade version. Check it I did the math. So, there you have it. Layers of copying and bargain hunting put this outfit together.
