Glam Sneakers and Floral Bomber

Glam sneakers, faux leather leggings, and floral bomber 1 Glam sneakers, faux leather leggings, and floral bomber 2 Glam sneakers, faux leather leggings, and floral bomber 3 Glam sneakers, faux leather leggings, and floral bomber 5 Glam sneakers, faux leather leggings, and floral bomber 16

I am starting off the new year (in mid-January) with renewed commitment to this blog and comfortable footwear.  I've always been a fancy shoe girl, but lately I have started amassing a bit of a sneaker collection.  I do like the trend of glammed up sneakers.  I can wear shiny and sparkly things AND have my toes not bleed.  I would also be remiss if I didn't talk about the printed bomber trend that's everywhere.  I love that this badass silhouette now comes in floral.  The bomber jacket aspect makes me think I can have a weekend of partying at bars and concerts, but the floral reminds me I prefer quiet and cats.  It's the small things that are going to make 2017 for me.

Discovering Clover Canyon (& LWIG link up!)

Clover Canyon Joyce Dress-2 Clover Canyon Joyce Dress-3 Clover Canyon Joyce Dress-1 Clover Canyon Joyce Dress-6 Clover Canyon Joyce Dress-5 Clover Canyon Joyce Dress-4

Clover Canyon is my new favorite fashion discovery.  The brand is known for its bold, vivid prints and sleek silhouettes.  I love the unique patterns on all the dresses, but I am really in love with the neoprene dresses.  The thick (and forgiving) fabric hugs all your curves (and hides any bumps and lumps).  Sadly, this is a fairly pricey discovery.  I did find this dress for a steal on eBay though!

Look What I Got: Stella and Dot Giveaway!

dress cardigan sneakers Stella & Dot Bloom Necklace Kate Spade bow belt dress cardigan navy dress yellow cardigan Kate Spade Striped Bow Belt Navy laser cut Dress with Sneakers Kate Spade Striped Bow Belt fringe purse

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I took a little mini vacation down to Orlando...more on that next week!  I am a chronic over-packer.  So, I always try to plan my outfits carefully so that I don't get yelled at by the flight attendants for my over-stuffed carry on bag.
I am especially bad with over-packing jewelry.  I like to have a choice of baubles.  However, this time around i was determined not to fill my purse with shiny trinkets.  I needed to leave room for snacks.
I wanted to go with a statement piece that could go with everything.  Neutral flashy if you will.  The Bloom Necklace fit the bill.  It packs quite the punch, but can be paired with pretty much anything.  For one of our walking around days (hence the sneakers), I was able to spice up a plain navy dress.  An additional plus is that it's not heavy at all.  It looks like quite a weighty flower, but it's super comfortable and light!

$1 Dress and Happiness Boutique

Happiness Necklace 2 Happiness Necklace 1 Happiness Necklace 3 Happiness Necklace 4 Happiness Necklace 5

You read that title correctly.  This dress was just $1.  Recently, my local Plato's Closet had a sale to get rid of all their clearance items.  There wasn't much left...mostly shrunken Forever 21 clothes made out of what I can only imagine are tissues and garbage bags.  However, I found this little gem on the rack.  It was relegated to the depths of the clearance rack because the zipper was completely detached from the dress.  For $1, I figured I could see if Susie could fix it.  Susie is my tailor.  When you are short legged and large butt-ed, sometimes the only way you can ever wear human clothing is to know your tailor by name.  So, for the price of $5 (I think she gives me a frequent flyer discount), Susie repaired the dress.  So, maybe this dress was $6.
Despite the great deal on this dress, the real superstar of this outfit is the necklace.  That piece of statement necklace glorious-ness is from Happiness Boutique.  It's got the perfect of amount of sparkle (i.e a lot!) and it's lightweight enough that it can be an everyday piece.

Leggings...tights for the girl who is such a giant mess that she can't stop ripping holes in actual tights.  Or...tights for the girl who likes cold ankles.  The second line was more sarcastic.  I really don't like the cold, but I am actually physically incapable of keeping tights for more than a few weeks.
I've been asking my mom for the same thing every Christmas for the last several years: Tights and wool socks.  Typically, I can wear a pair of tights a few times before so elegantly ripping a giant hole in them.  Sometimes they get caught on a sparkly bracelet and sometimes a hole just mysteriously appears.  So, I trust that my mother will help me restock each holiday season.  And the wool socks?  I just like cozy piggies at night.

With the temperatures falling each week and people (unnecessarily) putting up their Christmas decorations, I realize that perhaps a neon printed tank dress is not the most appropriate garb.  I've relented and finally given in to the fact that it's fall/winter.  I've started wearing tights and jackets.  I hold off on this as long as possible.  I hate wearing tights.  It's pretty much double laundry.  And on top of that I have to cover up all my fab outfits with a coat.  These are just some of the reasons I hate winter.  There are so many more...

You can probably guess that this is yet another outfit post from my recent vacation to Ibiza.  The palm trees were a dead give away weren't they?  I know I haven't written about said vacation (other than about what I was wearing).  I am super lazy and uploading pictures is hard.  And this blog isn't about beach landscapes.  It's about fashion.  And perhaps this outfit isn't seasonally appropriate....but just imagine it with some tights and a cardigan.  It gets dark real early now....taking outfit photos is hard too.
