Glam Sneakers and Floral Bomber

I am starting off the new year (in mid-January) with renewed commitment to this blog and comfortable footwear.  I've always been a fancy shoe girl, but lately I have started amassing a bit of a sneaker collection.  I do like the trend of glammed up sneakers.  I can wear shiny and sparkly things AND have my toes not bleed.  I would also be remiss if I didn't talk about the printed bomber trend that's everywhere.  I love that this badass silhouette now comes in floral.  The bomber jacket aspect makes me think I can have a weekend of partying at bars and concerts, but the floral reminds me I prefer quiet and cats.  It's the small things that are going to make 2017 for me.

Floral Leggings and Chambray

I am not good with "fall" colors.  I just really really love bright colors.  Case in point: these floral leggings.  I do love a good cozy sweater and anything maroon, but I just can't get away from bright pinks and blues.  At least I paired them with a fall-appropriate top.  BUT, chambray is really kind of an all year round thing for me.  Oh well.

Back in Black (and Floral)

I took a bit of an unintended blog break recently.  Life outside the blog was just not allowing for ample sitting on my butt staring at a computer screen time nor was the Scot's job giving me access to my photographer on the weekends.  But, now I am back with a ton of new post and outfit ideas.  So, I think the break may have reinvigorated my love of blogging!

No Buyer's Remorse

Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, it's time for Why Did I Buy That Wednesday.  But, I try not to participate in the buyer's remorse part of the holidays.  My powers of sheer denial are unsurpassed.  Take for example, this hat.  You would think that after spending money on a flight, hotel, and endless food and booze in Vegas I would regret spending $100 on a hat.  Well, guess what?  I love this freakin hat.  And I needed it.  It was sunny in Vegas...and I am sure the sun will shine at some points in New Jersey.  (And if you didn't notice, these pics were taken in Vegas...not the tropical paradise that has been New Jersey lately).

What to Wear to a Vineyard Wedding with Rent the Runway

For the brave wedding guest, try a fancy jumpsuit!  I know most ladies like to wear heels with their jumpsuits to elongate their legs.  Get a higher waisted jumpsuit and you can get away with flats in my opinion.  I thought this jump suit could be paired with bolder accessories.  It's not an outfit for the faint of heart!

Stripes, Floral, and Discount Ted Baker

It's no secret that I love pretty much everything Ted Baker, but it's probably also pretty obvious that I don't like the prices.  Therefore, I am a frequent visitor of the Bloomingdale's clearance rack and a one-time visitor of the Ted Baker Outlet.  The Ted Baker Outlet is in Las Vegas, which explains my infrequent (singular) visit.  I did come away from a recent trip with this gorgeous skirt.  Every season I love the full skirts that Ted Baker comes out with.  And I was happy to only pay $100 for this one.  Yes, $100 is still a lot of money for one skirt...one skirt that I can't wear to work and need a fancy party to attend to even let it out of my closet. Spring Florals and Sparkle

My wardrobe definitely has a lot of 2 things: florals and sparkles.  And now that it's starting to warm up here in NJ, I can bring them out together.  I knew this Calvin Klein dress would be a perfect addition to my collection of florals.  I saw it as a descended the escalator at Macy's.  It was love at first sight.  The Scot and I were taking advantage of our post-wedding registry discount at Macy's when this pretty floral lady caught my eye.  I almost ran up the down escalator to try and get to her.  Luckily, I came to my senses and realized this dress and I could live without eachother for the 30 seconds it took me to do a U turn and go back upstairs.  And as luck would have it, the dress was on sale AND I was able to use a coupon!
