The last few months I managed to (sort of) cut back on the shopping.  I added a few spring pieces to the wardrobe and intended on only adding spring / summer staples. However, when I found a few long-coveted pieces for a steal (i.e. Adelie Blouse and some Jack Rodgers) for a steal, i could not resist.  I have no will power.

I took a bit of an unintended blog break recently.  Life outside the blog was just not allowing for ample sitting on my butt staring at a computer screen time nor was the Scot's job giving me access to my photographer on the weekends.  But, now I am back with a ton of new post and outfit ideas.  So, I think the break may have reinvigorated my love of blogging!

As you can guess from the post title, I am pretty darn proud of some recent clearance finds.  This dress was just sitting on the Marshall's clearance rack waiting for me with it's cute little red sticker alerting me that it was cheaper than my lunch that day at $10.  It's the perfect little summer wrap dress and I love love love the color.  It's St. Patrick's Day in July here.

And if that wasn't enough of a deal for one day, I snagged these black sandals for just $4 at DSW.  After an extra 70% off the clearance price PLUS a $10 DSW reward, the register read $4.  

Since my jewelry came out of my Rocks Box (which costs $20 per month), I guess you can say my entire outfit cost $34.

Marshall's and Thursday Friday Bags

This outfit is made up of a whole bunch of luck.  I snagged this green Isaac Mizrahi tunic and these Coach sneakers off the clearance rack at my local Marshall's.  Designer finds like this are rarely left on the clearance rack.  I think my Marshall's is frequented by very diligent and intelligent bargain hunters.  The fancy name brands always get snatched up quickly.  You seriously can not take a day to think about whether you want that Kate Spade dress for $100.  And then after grabbing this fab deals, I found out I had won a giveaway on Join the Gossip for this gorgeous cross body from Thursday Friday.  I am seriously in love with this bag.  I love the chain and the feather print...pretty much everything about it.  It's the perfect running around town summer bag.  Well, not actually running, you can't fit too big of a water bottle in this bag.  So maybe some light walking, shopping and eating around town. Look What I Got: Derby Days and Instagram Shopping

I wore this dress with what I can only describe as horse ribbons on it to a recent trip to Philadelphia.  And I did not even realize until half through the day (and 3 beers in) that it was the day of the Kentucky Derby.  Maybe if I had  listened to that voice mail from my grandmother a little earlier I would have realized that my dress choice was genius.  My grandmother left me a voice mail asking if I wanted to place any bets.  Yep, we're an awesome family.

And (of course) this dress is another find from Instagram (via @kitschcatvintage).  I've always coveted this dress, but didn't purchase it from Anthro because sometimes it's more important to pay the rent than have a horse ribbon dress.  And then prices on eBay were insane.  So, when I found this dress via my new shopping addiction, I had to snatch it up.  I got this dress plus a floral Betsy Johnson dress for half of what this dress actually cost in stores.

The Luxor in Las Vegas is one of the most ridiculous places I've ever been.  There's a pyramid and a sphinx and and some kind of obelisk (not pictured)...and a lovely scenic view of the highway (also not pictured).  And you don't even have to take your life in your own hands to go see it.  On top of that, Las Vegas's sphinx even has it's nose.  Totally better than Egypt!  Does sarcasm come across here?  Blogger really needs a sarcasm widget.
