The title of this post isn't clever or catchy, but I feel like it should grab your attention.  I mean, seriously, a $50 Tory Burch skirt?  Is this really true?  Yes.  Yes it is.  TJ Maxx's The Runway section has once again caused more money (but really not all that much) to leave my wallet.  If you are unfamiliar, The Runway department at TJ Maxx offers high end designer fashion items, from brands like Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Taylor, and Tibi, at a fraction of the retail price.  The real deals can be found on the clearance rack of this section, which is where I found this Tory Burch skirt.  This skirt retailed for $278, a little bit out of my budget.  However, $50 (although still pricey) fit right into my budget.  I considered this piece an investment piece, a skirt I could wear to work frequently.  Also, for $50, this skirt makes me feel like a fancy profession lady.  That feeling was worth the $50.

Look What I Got: Derby Days and Instagram Shopping

derby days 2
Highest Accolades Dress: Anthropologie via Instagram (@kitschcatvintage) |
Gingham Shirt: J.Crew Factory (worn, similar) | Shoes: Espirit via Marshall's |
Monogram Necklace: c/o Onecklace (worn, exact) |
Bar Necklace: Kate Spade Saturday via TJ Maxx (worn, similar) | Bracelet: vintage
derby days 4 derby days 1 derby days 3 derby days 5 derby days 6 derby days 7

I wore this dress with what I can only describe as horse ribbons on it to a recent trip to Philadelphia.  And I did not even realize until half through the day (and 3 beers in) that it was the day of the Kentucky Derby.  Maybe if I had  listened to that voice mail from my grandmother a little earlier I would have realized that my dress choice was genius.  My grandmother left me a voice mail asking if I wanted to place any bets.  Yep, we're an awesome family.

And (of course) this dress is another find from Instagram (via @kitschcatvintage).  I've always coveted this dress, but didn't purchase it from Anthro because sometimes it's more important to pay the rent than have a horse ribbon dress.  And then prices on eBay were insane.  So, when I found this dress via my new shopping addiction, I had to snatch it up.  I got this dress plus a floral Betsy Johnson dress for half of what this dress actually cost in stores.

I whisked the Scot off for a short little mid-week holiday the week before Thanksgiving.  (I had a conference to attend in Atlantic City...but I am still calling it a holiday).  There's nothing like breaking up the week with a vacation.  Since my job paid for everything, we decided to treat ourselves and take a cab to dinner.  Did you know it costs $15 to take a cab to the other end of the one mile long boardwalk in Atlantic City?  Now you do...and so do I.  Once I was done hyperventilating about the cost of our cab ride, I just accepted that the Scot deserves the fancy things in life.  He was really disappointed when we were unable to upgrade to a room with a whirl pool tub.  I, on the other hand, am perfectly happy with a $14 skirt from TJ Maxx.  See how I brought this all back around to fashion?
And now for a giveaway with absolutely no segway...because this is a busy week and I do not have time for segways.

I'm thrilled to be teaming up with four amazing bloggers to bring you a Bauble Bar giveaway for the holidays. Whether for yourself, a friend or a white elephant giveaway, these statement necklaces are sure to brighten up anyone's holiday season.

There will be TWO winners, one for each necklace and randomly selected via rafflecoptor. Pretty easy right? You'll have all week to participate, the winners will be randomly selected at midnight on December 6th and announced on December 9th on Preppy Panache and contacted via email. If you're contacted you'll have 24 hours to claim or prize or another will be selected. We want to make sure that the winner receives it in time for most of the holiday festivities. Good luck everyone! And now for the roll call of bloggers teaming up to bring you the bling:

Look What I Got: Another T.J. Maxx Score

Maxi Dress: Calvin Klein via TJ Maxx (similar) | Vest: Target | Shoes: TJ Maxx (similar) |
Purse: c/o Yes Walker | Necklaces: c/o Romewe & Julep (similar here & here) |
Earrings: Stitch Fix (worn) | Bracelets: Groopdealz & Sira and Mara (worn, similar)

I'm going to go ahead and just change the name of this link up to Look What I Got...at Marshall's and TJ Maxx.  These days, most of my deals are scored at Marshall's or TJ Maxx.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I pass a TJ Maxx on my way home from work everyday and there's a Marshall's next to the Target I frequent.  Going to Target is almost like a job for me.  I'm there several times a week and I am really good at shopping there.
Well, anyway, I had been looking for a chevron print maxi for awhile and I snatched this one up for $40.  $40 is a but higher than my usual deals, but I am probably saving a ton of gas money by not driving to any more stores in search of a dress.

Look What I Got Linkup: TJ Maxx Broken Record

Dress: BCBG via TJ Maxx (similar below) | Necklaces: BaubleBar & Macy's (similar here & here)
Ring: Kate Spade (worn, similar) | Bracelets: Sira & Mara & Forever 21 (worn, similar) |
Watch: Michael Kors | Shoes: Lauren Conrad for Kohl's (worn)

I have proclaimed my love for TJ Maxx several times on this blog.  Most recently as during  last week's link up.  And during some other editions of Look What I Got.  Welp, I've been super predictable this week and I am showing you another TJ Maxx find.  This little neon tribal number was just $20.  And I almost forgot to mention...it's BC (freakin) BG.  The "freakin" let's you know that I think it was a great deal.
And now that this post is all written...I realize that I got this dress at Marshall's, not TJ Maxx.  There is still some magic in this old blog.
