I've been dying to try out the shorts with booties look.  It's like you've admitted that fall is here with the booties, but are still refusing to admit that summer is over with the shorts.

I scored the deal of all deals over 4th of July weekend.  I got Kate Spade Keds for $20...brand new, not at a thrift store...at Bloomingdale's.  I spotted these spotted beauties on the clearance rack.  Even at the clearance price of $50 I thought they were a steal.  But, the deal got sweeter.  All clearance shoes were an extra 50%.  And then it got even sweeter.  I had just opened up a Bloomie's credit card in order to get some wedding odds and ends, and I saved an extra 15% with that.  And I got triple Bloomingdale's Loyalist Points to boot!  And as an extra bonus my mom lost her mind when I told her because she recently and reluctantly broke down and paid $50 for regular Keds.  She then went on a rant about how Keds used to cost a dollar or something and she'd walk 5 miles in the snow uphill to get them at KMart.  Ah, the good ole days.

Friday's Fancies: For the Shorties

It's as if {AV} over at Long Distance Loving has delved into my psyche forcing me to face my worst fears.  Last week it was wearing white and now this week it's shorts.  As a pear shaped lady, there is nothing that evokes a sense of terror more than ill fitting shorts.  Want an instant thunder thigh and a wedgey on the side?  Put on a pair of tight shorts.  However, I conquered my fear and picked up a pair at Anthro on Memorial Day weekend.

I think the secret to the success of these shorts is that the leg holes are wide enough for my trunks.  And the color is dark enough that you can't see the pockets through the fabric.  I HATE that.
