Look What I Got: In My Rocks Box

June 14 Rocks Box
Charlene K: Raw Stone Pendent (worn, $92): The only reason I did not keep this necklace was the price.  Everything else about it was perfection.  It was the perfect length.  The stone was the perfect amount of glam and casual.  The color perfectly matched almost everything.

Pristine Circle Studs: Gorjana ($36): These earrings were so perfect for everyday.  However, one of the rhinestones fell out immediately.  That did not make me love these earrings.

Chevron Stacking Rings: Matterial Fix ($38):  The price sounded right for these adorable stacking rings.  However, they turned my fingers green.  I can go get finger staining rings at Forever 21 for $1.

July 14 Rocks Box

Abba Earrings in Ballerina: Loren Hope (exact,$54): I love anything by Loren Hope.  I am obsessed.  So, when I can get something of hers at a little discount, I snatch it up.  Her earrings are so funky, but they are super light, unlike other statement earrings.  And it doesn't hurt that these earrings perfectly match the dress I purchased for my bridal shower.  Yes, I have purchased a dress for my bridal shower almost 6 months in advance.  What can I say, I am an obsessive planner.

Sierra Necklace: Urban Gem ($56): I was sooo tempted to keep this beauty.  I wore it constantly while I had it.  This was probably one of my fav Rocks Boxes ever, but I probably kept it the least amount of time.  That's because of this necklace.  I was too afraid I was going to fall even more deeply in love.  And now that I have given it back, I already regret it.

Shimmer Horseshoe Ring: Gorjana ($32): Sadly, this ring was too big on me.  I loved how it was super delicate and perfect for stacking.

Pink and Polka Dots

I felt like this dress called for teeny tiny necklaces.  The teeny tiny necklaces match the teeny tiny polka dots.  And I am going to make this a teeny tiny blog post because I don't think this dress really needs much more of an explanation.

Wedding Day Beauty Prep

Wedding Day Beauty Prep

My wedding day is fast approaching.  I haven't been working out or limiting my pizza consumption, but I have been thinking about my skin, hair, and nails.  So, here's my wedding day wishlist and the tools I am using to meet my goals.

  • Glowing Complexion.  I wash daily with {1} Benefit Foamingly Clean Face Wash  and then I scrape off all those dead skin cells twice a week with {2} Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish.  I use both products with my {3} Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System (because I am too cheap to buy the Clairsonic Mia).  My skin has never felt softer and my pores have never looked smaller...and I have never had less zits.
  • Bright Eyes.  I often don't get as much sleep as I need would like, resulting in tired, wrinkly, dark circled eyes.  However, {4} Neutrogena's Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream is helping me curb my old lady wrinkles.
  • Long Island Medium Nails.  Ok, maybe I don't want them that long, but I would like my nails not to look like chewed up pieces of plastic.  I've been applying {5} Julep's Oxygen Nail Treatment every few days to help with growth and strength. (Get your first month of Julep free by signing up here.)
  • Barbie Hair.  I normally keep my hair pretty short, but I would like to have long(er) voluminous locks for my wedding day.  I've been using {6}Living Proof Perfect Hair Day to protect my hair from the intense heat of my daily hair ironing and also prevent split ends.
  • Luscious Lips.  I've been using {7} Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in combination with a weekly lip scrub using {8} Fresh Sugar Lip Polish in order to maintain soft and luxurious lips.

It sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't.  It's really just washing my face, slapping on nail polish every few days, putting in a little hair product, and putting on chap stick.

Is there any element of your beauty regimen that you recommend?

I have a really good excuse...

As you can see, Favorite Fashion Friday is missing today.  I have a good excuse, I promise.  I am in the middle of a dental journey and chipped one of my temporary veneers on an English muffin.  So, I am in some pain and sad about my mostly liquid diet.  I'm heading to the emergency dentist this afternoon, so I should be ship shape in time for happy hour tonight.

Look What I Got: Rompin' Around

After months of searching (and a whole lot of skepticism), I finally stumbled upon a romper, a romper that I could actually tolerate on my body.  And (bonus) only $30.  Of course it was a result of my Instagram shopping journey, where I shop from the comfort of my bed.  Now, I just have to figure out how to go to the bathroom in this thing. (Well, actually, I would like to go to the bathroom outside of the romper, but I guess that's just semantics).

I'm just doing a little 90's throwback with the tied up shirt....quoting a song from the 80's.  I am a time travelin' vixen today.  When I saw this shirt pop up on Groopdealz, I knew I had to have it.  It's got gold, sassy script, and a reference to a song that was played at every college party I went to.  It's pretty much the best thing ever.

In the Caboodle: July Ipsy Bag

July 14 Ipsy 1 July 14 Ipsy 2
Pixi Beauty Tinted Brilliance Balm (1.8g, ~$7): I'm on the fence about this one.  It's super moisturizing and smells good.  However, it did not have enough tint to make me use this instead of regular chapstick.

Clear Clinic Clear Spot Treatment (2 mL, ~$9): This is marketed as "an on-the-go clear spot treatment specially formulated with menthol, glycolic and salicylic acids."  It's definitely sized for easy travel; however, I am pretty sure this is just rubbing alcohol.  I tried it on some blemishes and didn't really see any results.

Bare Minerals 5 in 1 BB Cream Shadow (0.01g, ~$6): This shadow is supposed to be long-wearing and is supposed to smooth fine lines.  I was unable to try this out for a day because essentially this shade (Barely Nude) is the same color as my skin.  However, when swiped on my hand it was so silky smooth and didn't rest into any creases.  I might try it out in another shade, but at $18 for the full-size, it's a little pricey.

Models Own Nail Polish ($5): This crap was the color and consistency of cheap strawberry jelly.  This may be the absolute worst nail polish ever.  I am not even providing you a link to purchase it because I don't want you to even be tempted.

PurLisse SPF 30 Moisturizer (0.5 oz, ~$16): I am a huge PurLisse fan.  Their products claim to mesh natural wholeistic ingredients with more modern technology.  I am not too sure what this means.  Maybe I am putting less horrible genetically engineered monster blood on my face?  Whatever they do, it works.  Their moisturizers are the best.  However, they are a hefty $55.  So, I am super happy to get this deluxe sized sample.  And even happier that it has SPF 30.  It's pretty much sunblock that feels like lightweight expensive moisturizer.

Favorite Fashion Friday #57

 photo FavoriteFashionFridaylogo_zpsf66ade9e.jpg

After a two week hiatus, Favorite Fashion Friday is back!  This week's favorite outfit (from 2 weeks ago) comes from Bless Her Heart Y'all.  I love all the bright neons in this outfit tempered by the neutral white jeans.  And I am a sucker for topsiders.

Look What I Got: $10 Dress and $4 Shoes

As you can guess from the post title, I am pretty darn proud of some recent clearance finds.  This dress was just sitting on the Marshall's clearance rack waiting for me with it's cute little red sticker alerting me that it was cheaper than my lunch that day at $10.  It's the perfect little summer wrap dress and I love love love the color.  It's St. Patrick's Day in July here.
And if that wasn't enough of a deal for one day, I snagged these black sandals for just $4 at DSW.  After an extra 70% off the clearance price PLUS a $10 DSW reward, the register read $4.
Since my jewelry came out of my Rocks Box (which costs $20 per month), I guess you can say my entire outfit cost $34.
