Wearing a Midi Skirt in Winter

I love a full midi skirt.  I love them so much that I don't put them away when the temperatures drop.  My secret to keeping my calk bearing beauties out all winter involves 3 things: sweaters, tights, and over the knee boots.  The sweater has to be fitted and thin so that you're not adding any more bulk to the waist.  A full midi skirt can make your waist look super tiny, so don't take away from that benefit!  Tights and over the knee boots are an obvious choice.  You don't want your legs exposed to the frigid air!  Combining them just keeps you extra super cozy.

Comfortably Overdressed

I've been accused on occasion of over-dressing.  So, on my recent vacation to Universal Studios in Orlando, I was given strict instructions to "wear sneakers" and "dress sensibly."  Well, this is as "sensible" as I get.  For me, vacation is like 50% about the outfits.  The other 50% is about the food.  I wore sneakers, albeit covered in glitter, and my skit had an elastic waistband.  I call that damn practical.

Plaid and a Midi Skirt

The thought has crossed my mind that I have too many full midi skirts.  However, I just love this silhouette too much. It's so retro classy!  And it doesn't hurt that, in my opinion, it looks good on almost any body type.  So when I saw this beautiful blue number on sale, I could not resist adding another one to my collection.  It hangs next to the same skirt in salmon (that I stupidly paid full price for).

I had been searching high and low for an envelope clutch.  I missed out on a perfect Forever 21 version and had pangs of jealousy towards Shanna for snagging one.  I scoured the mall, looking in Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Forever 21 and just about every clothing store.  I had a few requirements: under $50, big enough to hold all my crap and non-leather.  Polyurethane all the way for this lady.  Just as I was about to give up, crawling through an envelope clutch-less desert...ASOS appeared. This baby was only $17, holds my purse hoard AND wipes clean with a damp cloth.
