Starting Fresh

Blog Planner, $20

I am going to be starting 2015 off fresh with this blog thanks to a newly purchased planner.  A blank planner always gives me such a sense of hope.  I think about all the things I can fill it with over the next year.  I know that an online planner or a digital one would probably be a little more "blogger-savy."  But, I don't get the same satisfaction when I type into a list as when I hand write a list....and then cross stuff out.
With starting a new job, buying a house, and planning a wedding in 2014, the blog took a back seat.  However, when I don't blog I get sad.  I actually enjoy this little corner of the internet I have created.  I know you see all the time how bloggers quit because they start to find it a burden.  I don't.  Blogging is my outlet...all the other stuff is a burden...haha.  Therefore, I have vowed to post 5 days per week and to get my butt organized.  Well, I won't actually be organizing my butt, but I will be better organized in terms of my posts.  Get ready blog world!  Penniless Socialite will be back with a bang in 2015!

Merry (freakin') Christmas

I'll be taking the next couple days off from blogging to celebrate Christmas with family and friends.  So, no link ups this week!   I have an ear infection and have run out of wrapping paper.  So, it's looking to be a magical holiday season.

Mindy Kaling is pretty much my fashion and life icon.  Every episode of The Mindy Project gives me some inspiration for a new outfit.  I knew I wanted to emulate this outfit.  When I saw it on the show, I thought the earrings looks a little Baublebar-esque.  And my fashion intuition was spot on, because The Mindy Project's costume designer teamed up with Baublebar for a line.   I pretty much wanted every thing from the line.  However, I settled for my sparkly studs.  I had to tone down Mindy's outfit a bit for work.  I am not lucky enough to work in an OB/GYN office that also doubles as a J. Crew catalog shoot.  At least I was able to exactly duplicate her earrings.

Help! Which dress should I wear to a December wedding?

I need a little help from the blogging community.  I am totally torn abut which dress to wear to a wedding next weekend!  I decided to rent something from Rent the Runway.  I have some credits burning a hole in my pocket.  Obviously, I have settled on navy blue and shiny....but beyond that I need some help!  Vote below!

UPDATE: The clear leader, Dress #2, is all sold out for my requested dates!  Darn!  So help me chose between 1, 3 and 4!

Leggings...tights for the girl who is such a giant mess that she can't stop ripping holes in actual tights.  Or...tights for the girl who likes cold ankles.  The second line was more sarcastic.  I really don't like the cold, but I am actually physically incapable of keeping tights for more than a few weeks.  

I've been asking my mom for the same thing every Christmas for the last several years: Tights and wool socks.  Typically, I can wear a pair of tights a few times before so elegantly ripping a giant hole in them.  Sometimes they get caught on a sparkly bracelet and sometimes a hole just mysteriously appears.  So, I trust that my mother will help me restock each holiday season.  And the wool socks?  I just like cozy piggies at night.
