Thank You Liz Lemon

In honor of the end of 30 Rock to, this post is a tribute to Liz Lemon...err..Tina Fey.  Like Angela of My So Called Life defined my teenage years, Liz Lemon has helped me accept the cranky, gross, stressed out adult I have become.  Liz Lemon made feel not only that it's OK to be imperfect, disgusting, hungry and messy, but awesome to be all of those things.

Yes, I write a fashion blog and dress up in pretty clothes, but most of the time I would rather be farting into a slanket eating night cheese.  And I am OK admitting that.  Nope, nope.  I am proud to admit that.  So, tonight I am going to go home, put on my glasses, sweatpants and cardigan and shotgun a pizza.

And thank you Liz for giving me an example of how the Scot dances.  Seriously, he thinks he's doing a hilarious Mick Jagger impression, but he actually looks like this:

Stuff I Love: March 2012 Edition

So, it's halfway through March and I haven't even done my love list.  So, here it is.

1. All Things Green and St. Patrick's Day.  This includes the Shamrock Shake which I have already written about.  I seriously have too many green dresses, 4.  What am I talking about?  You can't have TOO many of a great thing.  And be proud, I have limited my Shamrock Shake consumption to 2 this season, soon to be made 3 tonight.

2. Mad Men (including the Banana Republic Collection)
I have to ask is he really going out with to marry her?  (I couldn't resist the cheesy song reference).
Ok, this poster is super creepy, but for those of us that are members of the cult of Don Draper, it speaks volumes.  Will Don be falling deeper into an alcoholic adulterous pit despite his new marriage?  I hope so.  Ok, shut up, Don Draper is not a real person.  It's OK for me to wish bad things upon him.  Seriously, you can only cheat on your wife so many times before I get pissed.  Wait, am I angry at a fictional person?

3. The Lorax.

I missed out on seeing it opening weekend because all the showtimes were sold out.  Stupid kids.  But, I got to see it last weekend...and it was AWESOME.  I think it's exactly how Dr. Suess would have wanted it.  And Danny DeVito was the perfect choice for the voice of the Lorax.  He kind of even looks like him.

4. Doomsday Preppers.  This is the most awesome show ever.  There are people stockpiling meat in jars and building underground bunkers.  One of my favorite parts of the show is when they tell you the scenarios the people are preparing for are pretty much impossible.  So, the Earth isn't going to flip on its axis causing massive earthquakes?  And we aren't going to run of out oil and immediately resort to cannibalism?  I guess I should return the 3 years worth of canned corn I bought.

5. Neon.  I am going to look like a 14 year old's 80's birthday party this spring.

6. Pastel Nail Polish.  Check out Essie's Wedding Collection for some great pastels.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I am linking up with This Kind of Love for "What I'm Loving Wednesday."  There might be some overlap with "What I'm Loving" on Wednesdays and my monthly "What I Love" List.  If you see something twice, you know it's super awesome.

1. Getting Schooled.  Today I have a day off of work!  Well, not exactly.  I'm attending an all day seminar on current issues in land use.  Yes, I know it sounds thrilling.  (that is not actually sarcasm).  So, what do I wear on a day such as this?  Maybe I should be business casual since I am in a room full of other lawyers.  Nah.  I'm giving myself a Casual Wednesday.

2. Fiber One Brownies.  These things are freakin' awesome.  They're chewy, chocolatey and only 90 calories.  I have a box of these on my bookshelf at work.  Some lawyers keep fancy legal books on their bookshelf.  I keep snacks on mine.

3. Downton Abbey.  I just started watching this on Netflix.  And I am addicted.  Of course, I just have to figure out what everyone's name is and what "breaking the entail" means.

4. Free Samples!  I came home the other day to find a package from Procter and Gamble.  It contained, not only coupons, but samples of toothpaste, laundry detergent, baby wipes and diapers.  Ok, I can't use the diapers, but my cousin and her new baby can.  I've also recently received free samples from Sephora when ordering online.  I love to stock up on samples and travel size items for vacations and weekend trips.

5. Target's Swimwear.  I am so happy that one piece bathing suits are back in style.  There are two things I will never have: a tan or a flat stomach.

6. Buxom Lip Balm.  I got this little beauty free, yes free, with a Sephora purchase.  I'll have a review of it later this week.  I actually got it in the color Wakiki, but this dark burgundy color is gorgeous!
