Thank You Liz Lemon

In honor of the end of 30 Rock to, this post is a tribute to Liz Lemon...err..Tina Fey.  Like Angela of My So Called Life defined my teenage years, Liz Lemon has helped me accept the cranky, gross, stressed out adult I have become.  Liz Lemon made feel not only that it's OK to be imperfect, disgusting, hungry and messy, but awesome to be all of those things.

Yes, I write a fashion blog and dress up in pretty clothes, but most of the time I would rather be farting into a slanket eating night cheese.  And I am OK admitting that.  Nope, nope.  I am proud to admit that.  So, tonight I am going to go home, put on my glasses, sweatpants and cardigan and shotgun a pizza.

And thank you Liz for giving me an example of how the Scot dances.  Seriously, he thinks he's doing a hilarious Mick Jagger impression, but he actually looks like this:

Lemon Out!

Look What I Got: The One with the Sequin Dress

Sequin Tunic: Simply Be via Gwynnie Bee | Tights: Joe Fresh (worn here) | Shoes: Target
Bracelets: ?? and Michael Kors (similar here & here) | Ring Stella & Dot (similar here)

I put this dress in my Gwynnie Bee virtual closet after seeing it on Katie of Hems for Her.  Katie not only inspired me to try out this dress, but inspired the name of this post.  She said (via Twitter because we've only virtually hung out so far) "I wanted to wear it nonstop like that wedding dress episode of Friends!"  Thus, this post is "The One with the Sequin Dress."  (It's also "The One with the Bad White Balance" as the Scot and I try to learn about photography.)
And, just for Look What I Got" I paired this sparkly tunic with some $7 flats from Target.  Yes, I already have a pair of black ballet flats, but for $7 I figured I needed another pair.  Seriously, check out the Target shoe clearance section.  I also got a leopard pair for $7.

Full disclosure: I did not receive any thing from Gwynnie Bee in exchange for this post.  I found the service on my own and decided to sign up and share it with you guys.  I do get one free month of Gwynnie Bee for every lady that signs up for a paid month of Gwynnie Bee here.

What I Wore Wednesday: Dogs, Plaid and Rainbows

Shirt: J. Crew Factory (similar here) | Skirt: Target | Sweater Tights: Hue |
Booties: Target (worn here, similar here) | Halation Necklace: Anthropologie (worn here, similar here) | Bracelet: Lucas Jack via Rocks Box | Watch: Michael Kors (worn here)

Bet you didn't know I fart rainbows.  Do I really even need to say anything else about this post?  I'm pattern mixing and somehow the Scot's photography skills made rainbows fly out of my butt.  There ya go....Happy Wednesday.

In the Caboodle: January Glam Bag

Josie Maran Argan Oil:  I haven't tried an Argan oil yet and I have been dying to test one out.  I love Josie Maran products.  I've used their highlighter and love it.  So, I am anticipating loving this stuff.

Pacifica Blood Orange Lotion: This stuff is 100% vegan, so I am happy with that.  It smells great and managed to stop my hands from cracking.

Nailtini Nail Polish (in Bloody Mary): This is the second Nailtini polish I've gotten in my Glam Bag.  I love it, but I subscribe to Glam Bag to try out new and different products.  Now, that I am done with that little rant.  This nail polish is pretty awesome.  It's got great color with just one coat.

Big Sexy Volumizing Hairspray:  I love that it's the perfect size for my purse.  Although this is supposed to be "volumizing," I think it just seems like a normal good quality hair spray.

Soho Eyeliner Brush:  I've only used slanted eyeliner brushes, so this is a departure for me.  I love the ergonomic design.  It's hard to put cream eyeliner on straight!

Weekend Update: Seahorses

Booties: Target (worn here, similar here) | Socks: Target | Watch: Michael Kors |
Bracelets: Forever 21 (worn here, similar here and here)

We went out to dinner on Saturday night with friends of ours that have a newborn baby.  Since they got a babysitter for the evening, we had to do it up.  So, I slapped on a coat of nail polish and put on my best seahorse sweater and went out on the town.  Ok, it's my only seahorse sweater (for now).  And when I say "out on the town," I mean we went to a brewpub, had a sampler and then went back to our friends' house and sat on their couch.  When I saw this "pizza beer" in the liquor store, it was love at first sight.  Two of my favorite things in the world combined.  It actually had a pizza-esque taste.  It tasted like the smell of pizza sauce...it was weird.

On Sunday morning, the Scot dragged me out of bed for brunch.  No pictures of that because I wasn't actually a functional human being until after a gallon of coffee.  After I rejoined the human race we went to the mall with the big Forever 21, which has been transformed into pastel wonderland.  It looks like a My Little Pony threw up in there...I mean that in a good way.  I actually love the pastel.  Maybe using vomit as part of the description was not the best way to portray my approval.

On a Budget: Patterned Pencil Skirts

My sidebar is going to look bare in about a week.  So, 50% off all ad spots for everyone!  Use code FROZEN50
On a Budget: Patterned Pencil Skirts

It should not come as a surprise that I love pencil skirts.  However, it was a surprise to me to realize I didn't own a single patterned pencil skirt.  I loved the J. Crew Scroll Print Pencil skirt, but $158 is pretty steep, and it's already sold out.  I couldn't find one in a similar pattern or even similar colors, but I did find a myriad of different patterns and colors out there in the world of pencil skirts.  I'm thinking of getting a floral print one.  How awesome would a floral pencil skirt look with a striped top?
