Loving Lately: Professor Blazers (and Giveaway Winner Announced)

Loving Lately: Elbow Patches

I love the menswear inspired trend this season.  I am especially loving that us ladies can have elbow patches on our blazers now.  No longer is the elbow patch reserved for professors or equestrians. The orange Banana Republic blazer (#2 above) has elbow patches are the same color as the jacket, so they are subtle.  However, I think I want to go bold with the elbow patches.  The Forever 21 version (#1 above) is the most budget friendly option at only $22.50, but it has a less traditional silhouette with the cropped jacket.  The Zara (#4 above) and The Limited (#3 above) are the most classic of the four blazers.  My pick is The Limited jacket, but it's sold out online!

And, I chose the winner of the Shabby Apple Giveaway via Random.org.  The winner is comment #7: Ashleigh of Stylized Wannabe.

Stuff I Wore: Spring Fever

Look at me, don't I just look like a beautiful spring flower?  Little do you know that I'm just a raging ball of snot at this point.  I;m having that kind of congestion where you get out of breath eating.  No?  You've never had that?  Me either.  I am totally NOT gross.

I was really inspired by Atlantic Pacific's outfit combining purple and yellow.

And this is where I realized there was cat puke on my skirt.

As you can probably see, I was hard at work this weekend redesigning the blog.  I hope you like it!

Stuff I Wore: Polka Dots at the Office (OOTD 11.16.11)

I really have to get caught up on my outfit posts.  The Scot has been off from school for the past week and has been walking the dog for me in the morning, so I had extra time to primp in the mornings.  Seriously, walking the dog really cuts into my beauty regimen.  Now that she has had her fancy pants obedience training, I am supposed to be a good owner and reinforce it 20-30 minutes a day!!!  At least it seems to be working.  We walked past a group of rowdy teenagers the other night and she didn't even growl at them.  Although, I have to admit, I almost growled at them.  Anyway, here is my polka dot outfit.

Stuff I Wore: Daily Sparkle (OOTD 11.14.11)

Do you ever just want to go to work in your pajamas?  The only problem with work pajamas is that they really are not conducive to accessorizing with bling.  I don't care that pajamas are socially inappropriate work place attire.  I'd probably wear a Snuggie to work on casual Friday if I didn't think it would inevitably lead to termination and civil commitment.  I care that pajamas don't go well with my collection of rhinestone jewelry.  I'd wear rhinestone studded jammie pants, I would.
So, on Monday morning when I woke up in an "I don't care, where's my sweat pants and coffee" kind of mood, I knew that only heavy duty rhinestones would get me through the day.  So I threw on these gems.

Yes, it's real....real rhinestone.
Rhinestone Bunny Work of Art // Forever 21
The title of my Lifetime move will be - "Rhinestones and Legal Briefs"
Rhinestone Firebursts // Candies // Kohl's
And because I was so tired after picking out jewelry, I went with a boring pant, shirt, cardigan combination. I am glad was a little boring with my attire because when I arrived at the office I was immediately sent to a court appearance. I'm not really sure if the legal system could handle rhinestones and, let's say, a polka dot dress.
I really need to adjust the angle of the mirror.
It's having a fun house effect on my body.
I'm blaming the mirror and not the love of pizza and TV.

And here's the Polyvore Set with some similar items substituted and some top choices.  Actually, the pants and the ring are the only items that are recent purchases and still in stores.  Everything else are distant past purchases.
