This little group of gems was left on my camera from the last few moments of summer.  I figured it was OK to keep posting these because up until this week, it still felt like summer in New Jersey.  And I am a lot of things...sarcastic, impatient....and pragmatic.  I don't dress based on the date on the calendar.  I actually stick my head out the window....or look at my weather app.  I have not yet felt a need to wear riding boots, wool scarves, and chunky knit sweaters.  It just seems a little sweaty to me

Finally, the Rocks Box peeps answered my prayers and sent me a Loren Hope necklace.  It's the holy grail of necklaces.  And the price matches such designation at $165.  I can't give this beauty back.  I'll sell off all my other necklaces in order to keep this gem.  Ok, that's a bit extreme.  But, I am selling some of my necklaces and other clothes that don't get enough love in my Instagram shop.  You should stop by, buy stuff, and help me fund my sparkly necklace addiction.  Here's just a few of the items available in the shop!

After months of searching (and a whole lot of skepticism), I finally stumbled upon a romper, a romper that I could actually tolerate on my body.  And (bonus) only $30.  Of course it was a result of my Instagram shopping journey, where I shop from the comfort of my bed.  Now, I just have to figure out how to go to the bathroom in this thing. (Well, actually, I would like to go to the bathroom outside of the romper, but I guess that's just semantics).

Engagement Photos (Part 1)

I've been teasing it a bit on Instagram, but now here are the official engagement photos.  I know, it's more exciting than the William and Kate engagement photos.  Unfortunately, I did not get detail shots of the accessories because, for some reason, the Scot did not want this to turn into a blog photo shoot.

I had actually purchased the petticoat before the dress.  I knew that I wanted to wear a poofy floral dress, so I had to buy the poof first and wait for the flowers.  I mean, what else do you wear for a photo shoot at an arboretum?  Any thing else would be silly.

And there's a surprise bow on the back!  I am not a fan of this pic because the rain (yes rain) that day just wreaked havoc on it.  However, it's the best pic of the bow.  Bow > bad hair.

This pic is probably my favorite because you can see all of the poof.

And you may notice that the title says "Part 1."  There was a costume change.  There was a shoe change with this dress because, well, I couldn't walk through the grass in heels.  But, I made a more drastic costume change later.  The Scot did not.  Obviously, this photo shoot was like 50% about the clothes I wore.  So, more to come (probably next week).

Last weekend we joined some friends for a picnic at a local winery.  We fancy.  What do you wear to a picnic lunch at a winery?  If you say any thing other than a giant hat and a vintage floral dress you are wrong.
I had been looking for an occasion to wear this dress, but one had not arisen until last weekend.  And this journey to the winery was a long one.  Not in terms of our actual travel time to the winery, but in terms of prepping this dress for the occasion.  I ordered this dress from another Instagram shop.  ( I know, I have a problem)  And it was waaay too big.  Mostly the elastic on the back of the dress had given up on life after 20 to 30 years.  So, after attempting to belt the crap out of the dress, I took it to a seamstress...who had to cut out the entire back of the dress and reconstruct it....and she did it all for $22.  It probably helps that I bring in at least one item per week to be dry cleaned.
