Shoesday: Crazy Feet?

It's no secret that I love an adorable, whimsical print (sometimes animal, sometimes not).  Here's the evidence:
Cats (seen here); Keys (seen here); Snails (seen here); Birds (seen here)
However, I am a bit on the fence about these crazy animal shoes.  Are they quirky and adorable or crazy cat lady living in Boca?

Well, buy me a purple Vespa and send me to Boca with an army of cats.

Shoesday: Is this Back?

So, this week I totally thought I'd participate in the "Oh How Pinteresting" link up over at The Vintage Apple. But, since I worked a 15 hour day yesterday, you are getting a belated Shoesday post. I didn't even have time to finish up this simple little post until this morning.  And I HAD to post it because I really have a burning question for the community: Are canvas sneakers back?!?!?!

Target Canvas Shoes
I'm a little confused.  Please help me out on this one.  Do I have to break out my rainbow of leggings and slouch socks?  I've seen them at Target and Forever 21.  Is this what the youngsters are wearing these days?  If so, fashion really is cyclical and I will take some in leopard.  Seriously, between the canvas sneakers and the neon this season, I am reverting back to my elementary school self.  Oh god, I hope my braces, frizzy hair and freckles don't come back.

Shoesday: Patterned Wedges

*I've finally figured out how to make grab-able buttons!  Get it, share it, love it!  I've given you three designs to choose from.  Leave me a comment if you'd like to swap.  I can probably fit 4-5 on my sidebar and beyond that I'll just start deleting other sidebar items.  You can all guess that I have a Polyvore account right?  I already have an "About Me" tab and you see enough of my face on this blog right?

I was out shopping this weekend with my bestie Elena and amongst all the colorblocked shoes emerged another trend: patterned wedges. I think this trend screams to be incorporated with another trend: pattern MIXING. Floral wedges with some striped shorts? Yes please!  Ok, I just noticed that all the "patterns" I picked are floral.  If you've seen some non-floral patterned wedges, let me know!

Shoesday: Yellow Flats

Today's post is brought to you by my cracking and decaying yellow flats.  As a little back story, I bought my yellow flats on a whim in Marshall's 3 years ago for a friend's wedding.  I was a bridesmaid in my former roommate's wedding and we had to wear yellow shoes with our navy dresses. The dresses were long and I am short, so I knew I had to find heels.  Well, after weeks of searching, the only yellow heels I could find looked like they were snatched right off a stripper, a stripper that probably had horrible back and foot problems.  So, I bought some yellow flats to throw on at the reception.  I never thought I would love them so much.
I wear my yellow flats everywhere and with everything.  They are comfortable enough for a whole day of work or sightseeing.  I love them so much, but their time to be replaced has come.  I have three criteria: comfortable, not leather and under $100.  Here are the final contenders:

1. Nine West Cyndi, $59
2. Women's FERGALICIOUS Twinkle Yellow, $40

3. Ruffle shoes, $20

And here is how I've worn my beloved yellow flats in the past.

Shoesday: Colorblocked Shoes

Jessica Simpson shoes
This post was inspired by Jessica Simpson's Bendie Heels.  I first spied these in Marshall's a few weeks ago.  I think they're a season or two old, but that doesn't make them any less fabulous.  The only thing stopped me from buying them was their complete impracticality.

So, I found some colorblocked shoes that fit better into my life.
I love this first look because it contains my new favorite color combo: mint and coral.

I've been drooling over these Simply Vera flats at Kohl's for a few weeks.  I'm patiently waiting for them to go further on sale.  I refuse to pay $50 for shoes at Kohl's.  And I've decided that orange and purple look good together.  Just get me on my purple Vespa and send me down to Boca to be with like-minded people.

Shoesday: Floral Oxfords and Wingtips

Forever 21 Floral Wingtips
With all the excitement of V-day yesterday, I didn't have time to compile my Shoesday post.  A lot of thought goes into Shoesday.  I have to spend hours perusing websites for fabulous shoes.  I know, my life is so difficult.
This week I am in love with Forever 21's Floral Wingtips.  I've been loving oxfords (both heeled and flat) this season, but I was a little tired of the boring brown.  And Forever 21 offered me the perfect marriage of serious oxford and fun floral that will make it's way into my spring/summer wardrobe.  I picture myself at a backyard BBQ drinking beer out of a red Solo cup in these.  Yes, these will be my beer chugging shoes this summer.  I need an outfit for every occasion.
And here's how I would style them for the summer.

Can you say PATTERN MIXING!!  My love of seersucker knows no bounds.  I think I developed it while living in Virginia for three years when I went to school.

And finally, this look would just be great for running errands or a casual  night at a friend's house.  I'm not a huge fan of shorts, but I think I'd make an exception for some adorable pink ones.

Shoesday: Cicely You're Breaking my Heart...

Tory Burch Cicely Pumps
After missing last week's Shoesday, I'm coming back with a bang (and another corny song reference).  However, Cicely and I are starcrossed lovers.  First, even on sale these shoes are still $210.  Second, Cicely offends my morals by having leather lining and soles.  Damn you Tory Burch!  Stop tempting me with your animal skin adorned beauties!!
These shoes encompass two of my favorite trends: color blocking and stacked heels.  I love colorblocking because now I can wear at least two bright colors at once without looking like a crazy lady.  My feet are happy about the stacked heel trend.
I haven't found a cheaper, vegetarian version yet.  I will keep you updated when I do!

Shoesday: Nautical Heels

Ok, I know I post a lot about J. Crew shoes, but it's only because they are so awesome.  My newest shoe obsession is the Evie Striped Peep-Toe Pump.  Nautical inspired fashion is every where this year.  I'm not on board (haha see what I did there?) with anchor and rope details, but I'm all for navy and white stripes.
Since I refuse to pay $258 for shoes, I have to wait until they go on sale or find a cheaper option.
So far the contenders are: Guess's Nanci, but they are still $110 and I just don't love them as much.

And then there are Sam Edelman's Novato Striped Pumps.  I like these a bit better, but I fear they will be much too hard to walk in.   Any one else have some good recommendations for striped heels?

I picture myself on a boat in the Hamptons wearing a flowing yellow dress and straw hat with a big bow with  a whiskey sour or at a horse race in a coral sun dress with a flowered hat and a mojito.  (most of my clothing fantasies involve excuses to wear large hats and drink cocktails).  And since I'm not a character on "Revenge" or a member of any of the Desperate Housewives clans, I'll settle for prancing around my parents' backyard in some nautical heels.  Yeah, I don't even have my own backyard in which to prance.

Shoesday: Pemota Chunky Heel Pump

Pemota Chunky Heel - Coral
I spied these beauties over at Target last week.  And I am in love.  They are great for spring and I am just waiting for them to go on sale.  They are the perfect heel: sky-high, but with a chunky heel making them a bit easier to manage.  When I pointed them out to The Scot he said, "They look like something a prostitute in Arkansas would wear."  What does he have against these shoes?  And Arkansas?

And good, they come in Leopard.  I'll buy them too.
And here's how I'd style them, with all items from Target!

Shoesday: Topsiders

Have you seen the new J. Crew catalog?  If not, get yourself to a store and take a peek.  One of my favorite looks of the catalog features Sperry Top-Sider Boat Shoes.  Oh, and THEY COME IN PINK!!!
Sadly, the lining of these shoes is leather, making them a no-go for me.  But, I am determined to get myself a pair this spring.
Sperry does make a version with a fabric liner.  They come in adorable stripes, but I don't think I can get the pink out of my head.

Sperry Top-Sider Boat Shoe - Striped

I've always thought boat shoes looked stuffy and like they belonged at a yacht club in New England.  However, I love the way J. Crew styled them and made them chic and fun.

Here's how to get the catalog look.  And I added some simple accessories.

And here's how I'd style some pink boat shoes, two different ways.  It's strange that I like boat shoes, since getting on a boat is one of my least favorite activities as a result of my debilitating sea sickness.  I'll just enjoy a mojito on the dock while everyone else boats.
