Chambray and Cats
When I put on this outfit a few weeks ago, my sister commented: "Huh, that makes you look skinny." That's pretty much the nicest thing she'll ever say about my clothing. Unless it's a J. Crew button down and khakis, she hates it. So, the fact that she was able to restrain herself from gagging at hte sight of a cat print means a lot to me. Ah...sisterly love.

You can probably guess that this is yet another outfit post from my recent vacation to Ibiza. The palm trees were a dead give away weren't they? I know I haven't written about said vacation (other than about what I was wearing). I am super lazy and uploading pictures is hard. And this blog isn't about beach landscapes. It's about fashion. And perhaps this outfit isn't seasonally appropriate....but just imagine it with some tights and a cardigan. It gets dark real early now....taking outfit photos is hard too.

Instagram Shopping...My Newest Addiction
Obviously, because I have enough clothing to justify having and entire blog about, I needed a new way to shop. And, obviously, I am being sarcastic. I have found a new way to get my bank account in trouble. And that is Instagram.
Skirt: @threelittlebirdvintage | Shoes: @fancyfindz | Shirt: Banana Republic (old) |
Bracelets: Pame Designs, giveaway win (exact)
Did you freakin' know that people have Instagram shops?!?! So, now that beautiful time wasting app is now a money sucking app too. Fantastic. If you follow my personal Instagram account, you know I am a crazy cat lady at heart, so it seemed pretty logical that I purchase this vintage cat skirt from @threelittlebirdvintage. It reminded me of a 1950's poodle skirt, but with a cat.
I should probably give you a little info on how the whole thing works. First, find shops by searching some hashtags. #shopmycloset and #clothesforsale are pretty popular. Once you find an item you like, check the shop's policies on how to claim. The most common way to to comment "SOLD" and provide your Paypal email. If you don't feel comfortable leaving your Paypal email in the comment, you can direct message the seller. Then, you should receive a Paypal invoice. You pay it and your items arrive a few days later!
One warning, be weary of shops that only accept concealed cash or ask you to send Paypal money via the friends and family track. It's a great way to get scammed. Of course, with every new modern convenience, comes a new way to have money stolen. With concealed cash and friends and family payments, you have no way to prove you paid for goods. At least with an invoice, if you never receive your items, you can open a dispute through Paypal. As a rule of thumb I ALWAYS ask for a Paypal invoice. There are plenty of honest shop owners that use concealed cash and friends and family payments, but I am a big old worry wart.

And I have entered the Instagram shop game as well, attempting to empty out my exploding closet. So, you can shop my closet here (@pennilesscloset). You can also take advantage of my BUY ONE GET ONE FREE sale! (and I only accept payments through Paypal and provide an invoice).

What I Wore Wednesday: Cat Dress (duh)
I love my cats and I wear my heart on my sleeve...and dress. Some might say I have too many cat print items of clothing, I say I have just enough. I mean, with the addition of this eShakti beauty, I only have 3 cat print dresses (and a cat print shirt).

Weekend Update: It's the Most Stressful Time of Year
Today I'm over at Glossy Blonde giving away some nail polish and ad space. Go enter!
I started out this weekend by finding out that I have a possible allergy to grapefruit. How did I find out about this allergy you ask? Well it certainly wasn't eating one. That's gross old lady food. I used some new face wipes infused with grapefruit....as I was getting ready for a holiday party. I did not attend the party because I was too busy trying to pry open my swollen eye lids and fight through a Benedryl coma.
And then the weekend got awesomer when I had to go to work on Saturday to prepare for a trial. Well, at least someone put a lovely pointsetta on my desk. And sometimes when you need to do important lawyer work on the weekends, you need to wear a Little Mermaid sweatshirt (from Kohls). No outfit photos with the sweatshirt because I did not shower before going into the office. I am super classy. Oh, and then the case settled by Saturday afternoon. I proceeded to reward myself with dinner and a milkshake at Cheeburger Cheeburger.
So, I spent my unexpectedly free Sunday Christmas shopping. According to Victoria's Secret and Target, footie pajamas are a thing. The Scot and I are just going to give up and pretense to romance and get matching footie pajamas I guess. I made myself to the mall 5 minutes before it opened because I was not dealing with the hoards of Christmas shoppers. I zoomed in and out in a half hour...but then I had to go back later that afternoon when pandemonium took over. Why did I willingly thrust myself into the belly of shopping hell? Because of this:
I bought my mom a lovely cashimere scarf at Macy's. On sale and with a coupon it was only $57!! But, then I found virtually the same scarf at TJ Maxx for $29.99. That Macy's rip off when directly back to the store.
And here is why I am not allowed to go to Target by myself:
Matching cat sweaters!! I have lost my mind. The Scot's response to this: "sigh."

I Love My Post Blog Hop (and a cat picture)
I know, three posts in one day?! I have lost my damn mind. However, I had the opportunity to host one of my favorite link ups and I could not resist. The I Love my Post Blog Hop is a link up featuring each blogger's favorite post of the week! If you're not into this blog hop, (I think you're loopy), I included a cat picture for your enjoyment.
Say hello to the lovely Natalie from Ohemgee our Featured Blogger of the Week!
I wanted to use the same post had chosen as my favourite of the past 7 days from her but to be good I went for something else and decided on this one: Coffee Talk to help you get to know a little more about her and her pet peeves – think I might have to join in sometime ;) ~ Sarah
