Leopard LulaRoe (& giveaway!)

Dressfashion Prom Dresses London
Leopard Nicole 1 Leopard Nicole 2 Leopard Nicole 3 Leopard Nicole 4 Leopard Nicole 5

This week, in preparation for my online pop-up party on Thursday at 8pm, I am will sharing a few of my favorite looks with LulaRoe items.  If you are unfamiliar with the brand...get familiar.  They make super comfy dresses, tops, and leggings in fun patterns that are perfect for work, a night out, or just lounging around the house.  They are only sold through consultants and items are only a limited number of items are made in each pattern.  So, once an item is gone, it's gone for good.
If you're not familiar with Lula lingo, items in hard to find prints or items that you just really covet are known as your "unicorn."  Well, because I am my grandmother, my "unicorn" was a Nicole dress in leopard.  I searched high and low for this beauty.  I joined a bajillion online parties, signing on to Facebook at the exact right time to try and snag one of these.  I was unsuccessful.  I finally had to resort to purchasing one used on Poshmark.  I say "resort" to, but lately searching used items on Poshmark has been my first stop for hard to find fashion.
Anyways...the Nicole dress is super flattering.  It has the perfect sleeve and skirt length for work and is incredibly stretchy (adding a  huge comfort factor).  The skirt is full, but not too full, so it's flattering on all body types.  It's really the perfect dress!

I have been wearing the crap out of this leopard coat ever since I got it from Zappos.  It's the perfect weight and length.  And it has the perfect amount of geriatric sass that I look for in my clothing.  The Scot agrees.  He has informed me a few weekends ago in Atlantic City that I "fit right in" with the old ladies at the slots.

Black, White and Failed All Over

This outfit is a total fail.  At first glance, it's a pretty good looking outfit....but it does not set out to accomplish what I tried to do.

I wanted to do a simple black and white outfit.  No frills, just classic colors.  However, when I tried to pair only black and white items and only one pattern, my brain revolted and would not let me do it.  I had to add in the pop of color with my Ettika bracelet.  I just had to add in another pattern with my leopard flats.
My name is Tara and I am an addict.  I am addicted to pattern and color.

Leopard and Lace

Enter my 1,000 Follower Giveaway.  Jewelry, gift cards and ad space up for grabs.
Silverfield Sweetheart Dress: Anthropologie | Cardigan: gift (similar) | Boots: Macy's (worn, similar) | Sunnies: Betsy Johnson via Marshall's (similar) | Necklace: DecoyLab (giveaway win) |
Bracelets: Bauble Bar (similar

Originally, I paired this lace dress with a yellow cardigan.  But, then I noticed I had somehow drawn on my elbow with a pen prior to this photo shoot.  So, I figured why not go all out and pull the leopard cardi from the depths of my closet.  The leopard cardi doesn't get to go out much and I am not sure why.  Her step sisters the leopard ballet flats get to go to the ball all the time.  And on a side note, this dress makes my boobs look fantastic.  On another side note, I got this dress on super sale for $40....down from $138.

What I Wore Wednesday: Stripes and Rhinestones

Skirt: c/o eShakti | Tee: Old Navy | Everjade Necklace: Anthropologie | Shoes: Marshall's (worn, similar) |
Ring: Vintage | Bracelets: Groopdealz & Forever 21 (worn, similar here & here)

Yep, that necklace is real...real plastic.  I am pretty sure that even if those shiny honkin' stones were glass I would develop a hump from lugging them around.  Side note: I had to look up that rhinestones are made of glass.  In my world rhinestones are a separate element.  They're on the periodic table right next to barium....also had to look up barium.

Use code PENNILESSSC for 20% off any order from eShakti.

Full Disclosure: This skirt was provided to me free of charge by eShakti, but all opinions are 100% mine and I styled it myself.  Other than the free skirt, I was not compensated in any other way by eShakti for this post.

I recently received three, YES THREE, blog awards.  Mini Me Style awarded me the Liebster Blog Award.  I've already been awarded the Liebster, so I'll leave to the other nominees to pick up my slack.

If that wasn't generous enough, Mini Me Style also awarded me the Tell Me About Yourself Award.

And if that wasn't enough for me, Allie over at Allie's Bubble gave me the Versatile Blogger Award.
Luckily, the rules for accepting the Versatile and Tell Me About Yourself Awards are the same.

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you.
2. Write 7 random things about yourself.
3. Spread the love to 15 more bloggers.

My Seven Random Facts

1. I was named after Gone with the Wind
2. I have an irrational fear of cicadas....or really any thing that swarms
3. I LOVE cartoons.  I might know more about Nickelodeon cartoons than most kids.  Go ahead, ask me anything about Spongebob or The Penguins of Madagascar.  Yeah, I felt weird being the only adult without a child on the opening day of Cars 2, but I really wanted to see it!
4. I love 90's movies about angsty twenty-somethings.  Reality Bites was a piece of cinematic brilliance.
5. I've recently started putting hot sauce on everything, which makes me fear my taste buds are dying.
6. I hate doing laundry so much that I pay for wash and fold every week...and yet I still can't manage to get all my clothes put away.
7. I am an obsessive list maker.  Post-It makes a fortune off of me every year.

I'm going to cheat on this one a little and only name 5 because I don't know how much commenting I'll be doing today to let others know I gave them an award...busy Thursday!  And here are some blogs you should checkout:

Stuff I Wore: And Now with More Lasers

Polyvore Set w/ similar accessories
Draped Snail Tank // Anthropologie
Jackie Cardigan // J. Crew
Belt // J. Crew, similar here
AG Stevie Ankles // Anthropologie, worn here
Leopard Flats // Jessica Simpson, worn here, similar here
Do you remember that awesome laser background from school photos?  Do you remember begging your mom to shell out the extra $4 to get that background on your school photo?  If your mom was like mine, you never got the awesome lasers because they were "a waste of money."  I was stuck with that stupid sky background all those years.  Other kids got to look like they were in "Tron" or a were a Terminator being jolted into the future.  Nope, not me.
But now with the help of Photoshop, the poor girl's version of Photoshop, GIMP, I finally get my lasers.  Do you think lasers are still an option in school photos?  Do you think it's an option for wedding photos someday?  Maybe even baby photos?  Yes, I will walk into a photo studio and shout, "Give me lasers!"

Does anyone have any idea how long this took me to do?!?!  It was worth it.

Stuff I Wore: Striped

Striped Top // Old Navy, worn here, similar here
AG Stevie Ankles // Anthropologie, worn here, similar here
Leopard Flats // Jessica Simpson, worn here, similar here
Necklace // J. Crew Factory, worn here, similar here
Look at that awesome pattern mixing!  Stripes AND leopard?!?!  Who do I think I am?  Ok, it might not be that bold, but it's a step.
I'm usually into cutesy patterns, like birds or other little animals, but lately, I've been on the hunt for more geometric prints.  I found a ton of stripey items at Target that match my stripey shirt.  My next geometric mission is chevron.  I would like a Chevron dress and maybe a Chevron bathroom rug.  Yes, I like when my home decor matches my outfit.
So, on to Target Tuesday...and if I find a Chevron dress before next Tuesday, you know what next week's post holds.
