When my sister first saw me wearing this sweatshirt, her first reaction was to ask: "Is that a cat on your sweatshirt?" I answered, "No, it's a fox." She responded, "Oh, OK. If it was a cat, I would think you were crazy." I then began to think about the social implications of a cat on your shirt versus a fox on your shirt and how people view you. But, then I just remembered that I got this sweatshirt for $10 and it's adorable.

Look What I Got Link Up: Metallic and Bows

This would traditionally be when I show you what I wore on New Year's Eve, but I am not a traditional blogging lady....and I am also lazy. Instead of recreating my NYE outfit yesterday and partaking in a wonderful little photo shoot, I slept until 11 am and then didn't put on real pants the rest of the day.

So, you're given a casual outfit from a more productive day. It's (almost) as good as my NYE outfit. It's got bows and a little sparkle...and a pair of BCBG heels that I scored in The Runway section of TJ Maxx for $40...and a pair of metallic jeggings I snagged for $27 at Gap on Black Friday. I hope this makes up for my lack of diligent blogging photography.

Neon and Lace

Somehow, I forgot to break out my neon pink skinnies all summer. So, they're now part of a fall outfit.

In my book neon is totally appropriate for fall. It just has to be paired with some darker hues. I even went a step further and paired it with a big fall trend....lace. So, I am considering this outfit a bridge between summer and fall. P.S. I am SUPER pissed that I forgot to take my cardigan off for these pictures. This lace tank is sooo cute. Weekend Update: Patterned Shorts

This weekend was a patterned shorts kind of weekend, full of relaxing and BBQ-ing. After a whole week of work (and rain), sometimes you just don't feel like putting on real pants. However society dictates that I wear pants in public...and my mother demands that I wear pants in her house. That's where these shorts come in. At least I had the sense enough to still be slightly fashionable adding some accessories and pattern mixing.

Look What I Got: Cheap Hearts

I would have posted yesterday's skirt as a great deal at $10, but Sharon beat me my getting the same skirt last week for a little under $6. So, instead here's a heart print shirt that I paid under $20 for at the Gap. I've been wearing this shirt constantly since buying it...with jeans, stretch pants and even a yellow pencil skirt. And on that note, I will pay a good deal of money for a pencil skirt that does not wrinkle. Since I do like to sit down during my work day...and sort of have to in order to drive to work, I can not avoid the wrinkles. And there is only so much Downy Wrinkle Release can do. And now it's time for the link up!

Look What I Got: Ms. Frizzle

This shirt (the one I got for $38 after a sale at Gap) makes me feel like Ms. Frizzle ready to board the magic school bus on a trip underground or something. (My skirt might be a little tame, but it was only $25 on clearance plus 30% off at Banana Republic) Please tell me you remember The Friz. She might be my fashion icon. Taking a trip into outerspace? Wear a dress with stars and moons on it. Yay! Going on a journey through the human digestive tract? A dress with fruits and veggies on it is such an obvious choice! Taking your weird sentient bus to the ocean floor? You're going to need a starfish print wet suit. So, you see where I am going with this. She was awesome. And so wise. So, always remember:

Weekend Update: Beer and Neon

This weekend was one of my favorite times of the year: the Atlantic City Beer Festival. It was the perfect weekend...and warm enough for me to break out one of my favorite spring purchases, this neon blazer. Maybe it looks a little bit like a crossing guard vest, but I am going to wear the crap out of this blazer thif spring and possibly direct school children across the street.

Because I am a terrible blogger (and drank quite a few beers) I really did not take any pictures during the festival. I took a few snapshots of the ocean, of the convention center and of the Scot attempting to kick a field goal. In case you were wondering, he didn't make it. Actually, before I intervened, he set the stand up backwards.

So, after a 4 hour session of trying beers from countless breweries, we staggered home and took a nap. We probably shouldn't have partaken in the $5 forties the night before.
